Food is a key to our personal universes, a conduit to knowing ourselves.

It's a way to simultaneously go back in time, stand firmly in the present, or look to the future.

Yet, why do women have such complex relationships with food, and thus ourselves? It's simple.

Society often defines women based on how they look and care for others. The everyday routines of eating and cooking get complicated.

palette explores the arts of eating and cooking through women's stories. These stories share unique journeys through self-care, feminism, and food.

whatever you love,

you are

I created palette out of my own love for the arts of eating and cooking. The poet Rumi writes, β€œthis is a subtle truth: whatever you love, you are” and I believe that to be true. I decided to explore that love with the women around me and I’m incredibly proud to showcase their stories. I hope that you love them.
